Monday – a trip to Tean

Hi – today the children from St Martin’s came over to Tean – a short five minute boat journey followed by a clamber down a ladder and a quick paddle – to see us.  I gave them a tour of the site and explained how the buildings of different ages can be next to (and on top of)  each other.  They were really enthusiastic and asked lots of questions.  They realised that archaeology is like a jigsaw and that we have to piece the evidence together.

Tomorrow I am off to see the children of St Mary’s (the biggest of the Islands) and we are going to do some dressing up and I shall let you know how tasty the school dinner is.   Will any of you be coming on the Samson picnic later this month?  Its not too far away and it will be a good chance to see everything we do.
